| Fox News - Latest Headlines | | | | Texas homeless shelters at 'breaking point' due to migrant influx: 'We have to say no to folks in need' | | Sep 14, 2022 | | The director of a nonprofit Texas homeless shelter said on "Fox & Friends First" Wednesday his facilities and many others in the state are exceeding capacity as a result of the border crisis. "To give you an example, I have one small shelter out of five that currently has over 110 individuals in it, when it should be closer to 80 at this point … so it has forced us to actually say no to some of those folks that are in need," said John Martin, deputy director of the Opportunity Center for the Homeless in El Paso. Martin blamed the influx of migrants for the situation, including "unannounced street releases." He said his facilities house migrants who have "presented themselves legally" to authorities at the border and were released. BORDER PATROL CHIEF SAYS BORDER CRISIS A RESULT OF BIDEN'S 'NO CONSEQUENCES' POLICY FOR ILLEGAL MIGRANTS Martin described this influx as a "drain" on resources and the community. "We simply don't know when they're coming or how many there are going to be. And so you just can't anticipate and plan at that point," he told Carley Shimkus, adding his group tries to help migrants arrange bussing to other destinations. Martin said initially his shelters were receiving "predominantly families" but they're now getting more single adult males and females arriving at his shelters. Martin said that many of the migrants have experienced "tremendous" journeys over four to six weeks to get to Texas. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed Tuesday that the Biden administration has taken "unprecedented action" at the southern border amid record levels of migrant encounters in the southwestern United States. There were more than 208,000 migrant encounters at the southern border in August, a slight decline from the 212,000 encounters that took place in July and about 13% lower than the all-time record of 240,000 encounters in May. There have already been more than two million border encounters so far this year, a record high. He spoke with Fox News Digital about how his perspective as a father has changed over the years and the kind of men he hopes his five sons will grow up to be. He had his oldest son Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green with his then girlfriend Vanessa Marcil in 2002 before the couple broke up in 2003. He then welcomed three more boys with Megan Fox: Noah, Bhodi and Journey Green, and recently welcomed baby Zane with his girlfriend Sharna Burges. Greene revealed his initial excitement about becoming a father revolved around the idea of having a mini version of himself and teaching his son all the things he likes to do. He admitted to pushing a lot of his likes onto his first son, but after seeing how different his three sons with Fox were, his perspective began to change. "The situation with Megan and those three kids was really the coolest for me to see because the kids are so close in age and they were raised, for the most part, pretty much the same, but they are so different. They're such completely different people, the three of them," Green explained. BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN TALKED PARENTING STYLE WITH MEGAN FOX BEFORE SEPERATION: ‘WE’VE GOT IT COVERED' Green revealed that through watching them grow up, he learned it is not his job to try and make his children a certain way, and instead learned to embrace their differences. Brian's top priority as a father now is to make them "feel loved and supported for their passions and what they're into and who they are." Most of all, he hopes his sons grow up to be kind and go through the world able to put themselves in other people’s shoes to help them. "I want them to have great communication skills and I want them to be sympathetic and empathetic, and I want them to approach life in as loving a way as possible and be kind to other people," Green said. When it comes to his newest arrival, Green is "so excited to see who he becomes." At 49 years old, he says he has "really not mastered this game, but (is) getting pretty close to it." Green also spoke about his partnership with Depend in their third annual Stand Strong for Men’s Health campaign, fighting the stigma surrounding men getting tested for prostate cancer. He claimed that although it is a treatable cancer, some men find out too late and treatment becomes more difficult, something which can be attributed to the stigma around getting tested. MEGAN FOX ‘GRATEFUL’ FOR BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN’S GIRLFRIEND SHARNA BURGESS "It affects like one in eight men. Women (have) absolutely led the charge in health care and taking care of themselves in screening for things, and I think men have this attitude of like, ‘oh, I feel fine, I'm a guy. I feel okay, I'll go to the doctor when I'm not feeling good,’" he said. "Well, you could be like well past the point of needing to." He then spoke about a new test which he thinks will help remove the stigma. The PSA test is a blood test which takes less than five minutes and tests for prostate cancer as well as 50 other illnesses, with the results coming the following day. His passion for men’s health stems from a health crisis of his own. "I was under the same mentality that most men are like, I don't need this, I'm good, you know, I feel fine. I, I eat well, I work out, I do things, I'm active. There's no worries for me," he said. "And then all of a sudden, I started dealing with ulcerative colitis and I dealt with neurological issues for a little while." "Man, I'm, not as strong as I thought that I was, and I can't necessarily deal with these things myself, you know?" CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER Green compared the stigma surrounding prostate cancer to the lack of stigma with breast cancer, and since the rate of infection is pretty much the same, the testing numbers should reflect that. He says it should be looked at any other doctor’s appointment. "It should be something as simple to me as the same way you talk about going to a dentist. Oh, I went to the doctor. I did a blood draw. I'm good on prostate cancer," he explained. "That's another year of sitting back and feeling like, okay, I'm being as proactive as I can be." "PCF is grateful for the Depend® brand's Stand Strong for Men's Health™ initiative, which helps fund life-saving research that contributes to detecting and treating prostate cancer," Dr. Charles Ryan, President and CEO of The Prostate Cancer Foundation said in a statement. "Deciding to screen and ultimately treat prostate cancer is a highly personal decision. Education and research are vital in determining the best path forward for both the doctor and patient." Green added that it’s "silly" that men still don’t get tested, "because it's become so easy to do." | | | | | Border agents blast Kamala Harris' border claim, say it's 'far from secure' | | Sep 14, 2022 | | FIRST ON FOX: Border officials slammed Vice President Kamala Harris’ declarations that the border is "secure," telling Fox News Digital that the flood of illegal immigrants into the country is a crisis that is getting worse by the day. Kamala Harris twice declared the U.S. southern border is "secure" during an interview Sunday, despite the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who routinely cross into the country every month. "I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do, the first request we made: pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship," Harris said on "Meet the Press," which aired on the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. "The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed." NUMBER OF ILLEGAL MIGRANTS WHO ENTERED US SINCE BIDEN TOOK OFFICE APPROACHING TWO MILLION NBC News anchor Chuck Todd pushed back against Harris’ claim about the border being secure, asking, "We're going to have two million people cross this border for the first time ever. You're confident this border's secure?" "We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration," Harris replied. "But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years. We also have to put into place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship." "We don't have that in place because people are playing politics in a state like this and in Congress," she added, referring to Texas. "By the way, you want to talk about bipartisanship on an issue that at one time was a bipartisan issue both in terms of Republican senators and even presidents." Harris, who was visiting the Lone Star state last week for a number of events, was put in charge of tackling the border crisis by President Biden shortly after they assumed office in 2021. Meanwhile, the number of migrant encounters at the southern border smashed through the two-million mark this fiscal year, breaching the already-historic 1.7 million encounters last year, as Border Patrol agents deal with a migrant crisis unprecedented in U.S. history and one that the Biden administration has so far failed to slow. One Border Patrol agent told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that the two-million mark directly contradicts Harris claim. "Well since we have apprehended over 2 million aliens so far this year, which is a record, and the year is not over and we set a single day apprehension record just last week I believe, that does not exactly scream that our borders are secure," the agent said.
"It was over 8k aliens for one day. That’s what we caught, not what we did not see or the gotaways," the agent added. KAMALA HARRIS DECLARES ‘BORDER IS SECURE’ AS THOUSANDS OF ILLEGALS FLOOD INTO US EVERY DAY "This quote is more of the same old word salad responses that this vice president gives," another border agent told Fox News Digital. "She may be more delusional than [Karine Jean-Pierre]! In my 13 years the border was never more secure than it was after President Trump finally had his policies put in place. The root cause of this invasion is this administration and handing out undeserved citizenship will continue to call in more illegal aliens, terrorists and MS-13 gang members." "DHS is currently scrambling for solutions as we cannot process the amount of encounters BP is experiencing," a senior Customs and Border Protection official told Fox News Digital. "Daily encounters are hitting 8,000 is some cases — an all-time record. The border is far from secure. It’s getting worse." Officials estimated to Fox News Digital in July that more than 500,000 illegals were known to have slipped past agents in FY22 so far, but they have been detected by cameras or other sensors. There have been about 55,000 so-called "gotaways" each month this fiscal year, and that number does not include the individuals who have not been detected by technology. The number is also in addition to the 389,155 known gotaways that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas previously testified there were in all of FY21. VIDEO CAPTURES MIGRANTS IN CAMO SCALING ARIZONA WALL AFTER HARRIS SAYS BORDER SECURE Still, the White House is trying to paint the border crisis as under control. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre came under fire last month after she claimed people were not walking into the country illegally. "That’s not how it works," she said. Meanwhile, Illegal immigrants dressed in full camouflage were spotted by Fox News cameras being lowered over an Arizona border wall Tuesday by human smugglers. Those who have entered illegally have typically been deported if encountered by ICE. However, the Biden administration imposed limits on the agency, restricting them to focus on recent border crossers and national security and public safety threats. That guidance has since been blocked by a court injunction, but arrests and deportations plummeted under the Biden administration. In FY21, ICE arrested 74,082 noncitizens and deported 59,011 — down from 103,603 arrests and 185,884 removals in FY20 and 143,099 arrests and 267,258 deportations in FY19. | | | | | Queen Elizabeth II's family tree: From her father King George VI to the youngest members of the royal family | | Sep 14, 2022 | | Queen Elizabeth II's family tree contains a lot of people and as members of the family have children, the family tree quickly grows. After Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history died on September 8, 2022, her oldest son Charles became the king and his wife, Camilla, became the queen consort. The next in the line of succession is King Charles III's oldest son, Prince William. Even though those members of the royal family are part of the immediate line of succession, there are a lot of other people in Queen Elizabeth II's family tree. Queen Elizabeth II is the oldest daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. They had one other daughter named Princess Margaret. Princess Margaret died in 2002 and outlived the Queen Mother by just a few months. Queen Elizabeth II became the queen after the passing of her father, King George VI when she was 25 years old. Queen Elizabeth II married Philip, Duke of Edinburgh on November 20, 1947. Prince Philip died on April 9, 2021, and Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022. Queen Elizabeth II reigned for 70 years, making her the longest reigning British monarch to date. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip had four children together: King Charles III, Anne, Princess Royal, Andrew, Duke of York and Edward, Earl of Wessex. QUEEN ELIZABETH II'S DEATH MARKS ‘NEW ERA,' ROYAL EXPERT WEIGHS IN ON PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE'S SHIFTED ROLES King Charles III was first given the title Prince Charles of Edinburgh, then Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Prince of Wales and now holds his current title, King Charles III. King Charles III was married twice. He was first married to the late Diana, Princess of Wales, who tragically passed in a car accident in 1977. He then married Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005. Since King Charles III was the eldest son of the previous reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth II, he was next in the line of succession following her death. Anne, Princess Royal was also married twice, first to Captain Mark Phillips in 1973 and then to Vice-Admiral Timothy Laurence in 1992. Andrew, Duke of York was married to Sarah, Duchess of York, but the two divorced in 1996. Prince Andrew took a step back from his royal duties in 2019 due to his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein. Moving into the next line of the family tree, we have Queen Elizabeth II's grandchildren. King Charles III had two children while he was married to Princess Diana: William, Prince of Wales and Harry, Duke of Sussex. Prince William is married to Catherine, Princess of Wales, who he married at Westminster Abbey in 2011 and Prince Harry is married to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex who had their wedding in May 2018. Since Prince William is the oldest son of the reigning King Charles III, he is the next in the line of succession. Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips had two children, Peter Phillips, who was previously married to Autumn Phillips and Zara Tindall who is married Mike Tindall. Princess Anne chose not to give her children royal titles. She is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Prince Andrew was previously married to Sarah, Duchess of York, and they had two children: Princess Beatrice, who is married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Eugenie, who is married to Jack Brooksbank. PRINCE GEORGE, PRINCESS CHARLOTTE AND PRINCE LOUIS START NEW SCHOOL YEAR IN MATCHING UNIFORMS FOR ORIENTATION Last on this level of the family tree we have the children of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex who is married to Sophie, Countess of Wessex. These two have mostly stayed out of the spotlight for many years. Their two children are Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Servern. Prince William and Kate Middleton have three children, Prince George of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales and Prince Louis of Wales. Prince George, being the oldest son of Prince William's is next in the line of succession after his father. The three children have attended public events, although their parents have often talked about how they try to provide their three royal children with as normal of lives as possible. All three children are attending the Lambrook School in Winkfield Row, Berkshire. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have two children, Archie and Lilibet. Prince Harry and Meghan both stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and ended up settling in Santa Barbara, California. The two did a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March 2021 where they shared details about the royal family. Their oldest Archie was born in London, England but Lilibet was born in California. Peter and Autumn Phillips share two children, Savannah and Isla. Their divorce was finalized in June 2021. WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE ROYAL FAMILY? A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE HOUSE OF WINDSOR Zara and Mike Tindall have three children Mia Grace, Lena Elizabeth and Lucas Phillip. Abbott, queen of Netherlands clash over abortion policy | | Sep 14, 2022 | | Queen Máxima of the Netherlands butted heads with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott last week over abortion rights in the state. The queen, accompanied by Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Liesje Schreinemacher, spoke with Abbott during a diplomatic visit to the state over the weekend. Queen Máxima reportedly criticized Abbott for Texas's pro-life legislation following the overturn of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court. MICHIGAN JUDGE SAYS COUNTY PROSECUTORS CANNOT ENFORCE ABORTION BAN The full exchange between the leaders is not publicly available, but both the queen and the governor seem to have held firm to their individual policy decisions. "There’s one point of concern that I wanted to raise, and that is on the right to safe abortion for women. Obviously, the Netherlands has a strong standpoint in that," Schreinemacher reportedly told Abbott. "I was wondering if we could, maybe partner up as counterparts to see what we can do in that [abortion] stance for Texas." Abortion is currently legal in the Netherlands until 24 weeks. After the 24-week mark, abortions are only legal in cases of health risks or medical emergency. "One thing we put high importance on here is the safety and health of the mother," the governor reportedly told the Dutch leaders. "But the other thing we put importance on is the safety and health of the baby." Abbott has been a champion of outlawing abortion after a heartbeat can be detected – a very early landmark in an unborn baby's development that makes abortion virtually illegal except in similar exceptional cases of medical emergency or health risks. While presidents typically file absentee ballots to avoid the cost of traveling to their home states, Biden made the trip to vote in person, telling reporters Tuesday that he was boarding Air Force One simply "to vote." The exact cost of Biden's trip to Delaware is unclear, but the Air Force revealed in 2014 that the average cost per flying hour (CPFH) of the Presidential Boeing 747 was $206,337. Biden took the smaller Boeing 757 version of AF1 on the trip, however, according to Bloomberg. The two announced this Tuesday that they are closer than ever to their "multi-year goal" of helping to provide 1 billion meals to people who are experiencing food insecurity, according to materials provided to Fox News Digital. Eight years into the 10-year campaign, Robbins and Feeding America say they "are well ahead of schedule," having already helped provide 914 million meals to people who are facing hunger across our nation. TONY ROBBINS GETS REAL ABOUT SUCCESS IN LIFE AND WORK: ‘JUST THINKING POSITIVE IS B.S.’ "There is more than enough food in the world to feed everyone on the planet — yet, millions of people continue to go hungry needlessly," Robbins told Fox News Digital this week in an email exchange. Robbins said he has "personally" known what "growing up and living with food insecurity" is like. That's why "trying to make sure families have access to basic nutritional meals remains my lifelong mission and passion," he said. Added Robbins, "Today in the U.S., nearly 34 million people, including more than 9 million children, are food insecure in the wealthiest nation in the world." FOOD BANKS ARE ALREADY WORRIED ABOUT FALL, WINTER — SOME FAMILIES MAY NOT HAVE TURKEYS THIS YEAR "Worldwide, there are more than 800 million human beings, both young and old, who don’t even know where their next meal is coming from." This situation is unacceptable to Robbins, he indicated. "What I know is that there is no debate that access to good nutrition means healthier people, including children who are still developing and need a good diet to fuel their healthy development," said Robbins. "Healthier people mean happier people. Happier people are more prosperous and over time [are] able to give back to make life better for others less fortunate." Said Robbins as well to Fox News Digital, "I have experienced this cycle in my own life. When I was 11, a neighbor who knew we were struggling knocked at the front door holding bags filled with food for a big Thanksgiving dinner." He added, "My father at the time was embarrassed to get the help our family needed … I was happy just to have food. I resolved right then and there to become successful enough so that I could help others the way that my neighbor helped me and my family." Robbins continued, "Each day since, I have asked how I can I help transform lives in a positive, measurable way that gets multiplied many times over by others who do the same." He said, "My goal and that of the Tony Robbins Foundation is [to] use the power of the network effect to place focus on transformative innovative efforts that have real impact at scale of lifting up people, communities and the world we all inhabit." Robbins said of his work with Feeding America, "The 1 Billion Meals Challenge in partnership with Feeding America is such an effort that has helped ahead of schedule provide more than 900 million meals to food insecure families in less than a decade." He added, "Imagine what would happen if that effort was done on even a larger scale in a sustainable way. That’s the next challenge." So in his opinion, what can each individual American do to help? "Everyone’s way of giving is very personal," Robbins answered in a response to Fox News Digital. "Do what your passion drives you to do. Start small and build on it." He added, "Maybe you give a $1 to the 1 Billion Meal Challenge or you make up and deliver a meal to a needy family or two." Robbins noted, "I started at 18 by asking my local church for the names of two needy families." "Just before Thanksgiving," he said, "I delivered the baskets of food to both households, each with a simple note in English and Spanish: ‘This is a gift from a friend. Everybody has tough times, so please accept this gift and if you can, someday do something like this for someone else to pay it forward.’" CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTER He said that "those two baskets with the help of friends and a growing network became 10, then 100, then 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 — and then a million and on and on and on." Said Robbins as well, "For those who do choose to take part in the 1 Billion Meals Challenge, every $1 donated helps provide at least 10 meals for families facing hunger through the Feeding America network of food banks." Robbins explained that he's "provided proceeds from the sale of my three most recent best-selling books — including "Life Force" — [as well as] other financial support to Feeding America and the 1 Billion Meals Challenge that can double the impact by matching those donations through December 2024." Wade. Kagan made an appearance Tuesday at the Temple Emanu-El's Streicker Center in New York and said she expects justices to be updated on the investigation by the end of the month. Gorsuch also mentioned the leak inquiry last week, saying the committee overseeing the investigation has been hard at work, and he hopes to see it conclude "soon." "I don’t know anything. I suspect my colleagues don’t know anything, except for the chief justice maybe, about what the investigation has turned up, if anything," Justice Kagan said after saying she expects an update soon. Kagan went on to describe the leak as "shocking" and "horrible," CNN reported. BIDEN ON SUPREME COURT LEAK: ROE SHOULD NOT BE OVERTURNED, 'A WOMAN'S RIGHT TO CHOOSE IS FUNDAMENTAL' FBI INVESTIGATING ATTACKS ON PREGNANCY CENTERS AS POTENTIAL ACTS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENT EXTREMISM The original leak of Justice Samuel Alito's majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization turned U.S. politics on its head in May, revealing the court planned to overturn Roe v. Wade. The leak led to mass protests outside the Supreme Court building, the homes of conservative justices, as well as domestic terror attacks against numerous pro-life businesses across the U.S. SCOTUS would ultimately follow through with the leaked opinion, overturning Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, and turning the question of abortion regulation back to the states. The Supreme Court's Court Marshal, Gail Curley, has been charged with leading the investigation, and she has offered no updates since it began. Multiple sources previously told Fox News that the investigation into the approximately 70 individuals in the court who may have had access to the draft opinion has been narrowed. Sources say much of the initial focus was on the three dozen or so law clerks, who work directly with the justices on their caseload. It is unclear whether the final report on the leak investigation will be released to the public.
