At least 12 new Ford Mustangs stolen from Michigan assembly plant

At least 12 new Ford Mustangs stolen from Michigan assembly plant

Police in Michigan are looking for the people who drove off in 12 to 15 new Mustangs from Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant.

The vehicles were stolen around 2 a.m. Tuesday. It is not the first theft of its kind from the facility, FOX 2 Detroit reports.

Two of the stolen Mustangs have been recovered, police told the station.

Station reporter Charlie Langton posted a video to Twitter showing how the cars were stolen from a parking lot across the street from the plant.

MAN CHARGED IN RANDOM DETROIT SHOOTINGS THAT KILLED 3

The Flat Rock Assembly Plant makes the Ford Mustang and Lincoln Continental, the station says.

A similar theft took place the same day. On the other side of the metropolitan area, thieves "smashed through the Stellantis truck plant and stole multiple Jeep Wagoneers," FOX 2 reported. The thieves were able to steal at least two SUVs that cost up to $100,000 before police caught up to them.

Back in June, six new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500s were stolen from the Flat Rock Assembly Plant, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Three of the stolen vehicles, which retail for $80,000 a piece, were recovered in that incident.

Last December four Mustang GT 500s were stolen from the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. One of them crashed through a security gate in order to exit the facility, the News-Herald reports. Shortly after that theft, two of the stolen vehicles were recovered.

Harris: Authoritarians can point to Dobbs decision to justify taking away rights
Sep 13, 2022

On Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that the Supreme Court's ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization has global implications that make some countries question American dedication to democracy and others use it to justify their own actions.

Speaking at a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute event, Harris claimed that the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and no longer recognize abortion as a constitutional right undermines America's position as a global leader when it comes to human rights.

"And the thing about who we are as a country, as Americans, is we have been able to walk in these rooms with confidence, talking about the importance of democracies, talking about the importance of rule of law, human rights, We have held ourselves out to be a role of all of those things, which gives us then some legitimacy, dare I say authority, to then talk about human rights around the world, talk about the importance of rule of law in the world," Harris said.

"When you are a role model, people watch what you do to see if it matches up to what you say. So nations around the world are watching this and saying, what's going on there? Do they really stand for democracy? Do they really have a legitimate ability to tell other countries what to do?"

VP KAMALA HARRIS MEETS WITH CIVIL RIGHTS, REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS LEADERS TO DISCUSS ABORTION ACCESS

Harris then claimed that not only does eliminating a federal right to abortion make the U.S. look bad to other democracies, but it also provides an excuse for bad actors.

"Authoritarian countries can now say, 'That great democracy is taking these rights. Why can't we also?'"

KAMALA HARRIS SAYS SHE ‘CAN’T WAIT' TO END SENATE FILIBUSTER IF DEMOCRATS WIN SEATS IN MIDTERMS

Earlier in the talk, Harris spoke to those who may oppose abortion on religious grounds, saying that one can still hold religious beliefs and "agree the government should not be making this decision for me."

The Supreme Court's ruling did not in itself take away rights in the U.S. as Harris claimed. It did, however, put that power in the hands of states' elected officials, who, in some cases, have imposed restrictions or bans on the practice.

Ford developing smartphone-controlled towing tech
Sep 13, 2022

You should never use a smartphone while driving, but Ford is developing away to drive a vehicle with a smartphone.

From outside of it.

Ford has filed for a patent covering technology that would allow someone to remotely control their vehicle while backing it up with a trailer attached.

The automaker currently offers the Pro Trailer Backup Assist feature on several models that uses cameras and sensors to steer a vehicle with a trailer in reverse while the driver turns a knob on the dashboard to point where it needs to go.

REVIEW: THE 2022 FORD EXPEDITION TIMBERLINE IS READY FOR THE WOODS

The patent, first reported on by MotorAuthority, appears to be an extension of this that concept.

As explained in the filing, the operator would use an image on the smartphone display to steer the vehicle by rotating the phone while controlling its speed by tilting it forward and backwards.

THE FORD BRONCO ‘OATES’ IS A MOTORING MYSTERY

Ford has not announced any plans to offer the feature to customers yet, and companies often file for patents on new ideas that never make it to production.

Recent filings from ford have included a climate controlled pickup bed and a manual transmission with a clutch pedal that can operate itself when the driver doesn't want to use it.

Legalized sports betting has arrived in Kansas
Sep 13, 2022

Legalized sports betting arrived in Kansas on Thursday, with wagers being taken at state-owned casinos and via mobile apps.

The "soft launch" of sports betting in Kansas comes after Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly signed a bill in May that the Republican-controlled Legislature passed with bipartisan support.

The launch meets a goal set by state officials to have the operations running by Sept. 1, in time for the first NFL games. An official launch of the operations is scheduled for Sept. 8.

A PUSH TO TEACH GAMBLERS WHICH SPORT BETTING SITES ARE LEGAL

Bettors must be in Kansas to place their wagers.

Under the law, each state-owned casino may offer in-person sportsbooks and mobile sports betting on up to three platforms or applications.

HOW DOES SPORTS BETTING WORK?

As of Thursday, in-person betting is available at Hollywood Casino in Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane.

Hollywood Casino will partner with Barstool Sports for mobile betting and Kansas Star will partner with FanDuel.

Boot Hill Casino and Resort in Dodge City will offer mobile sports betting through DraftKings, and Kansas Crossing Casino in Pittsburg will offer mobile sports betting through BetMGM, Caesars, and PointsBet.

In-person betting at the two casinos will be announced in the near future, lottery officials said.

Bill Gates concerned about maintaining focus on public health during economic downturn
Sep 13, 2022

Asking the world to prioritize saving lives in the world's poorest countries is increasingly challenging in a world still rocked by the COVID-19 pandemic, the threat of climate change, rising energy costs and the war in Ukraine, according to Bill Gates.

The Microsoft co-founder turned philanthropist said it was a "paradox" that in the wake of a huge global health threat, funding for tackling diseases like malaria and AIDS could actually drop this year.

"I am very worried… ironically, in the face of the clearest indication of why infectious disease is not a thing of the past, in fact, the funding levels could go down," said Gates in an interview with Reuters last week.

GEORGIA FOURTH-GENERATION FARMER RIPS BILL GATES AS LARGEST FARMLAND OWNER IN US: 'HELL YEAH I HAVE CONCERNS'

He was speaking ahead of the publication of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's annual Goalkeepers report, which tracks progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), around reducing poverty and improving health.

The report finds that the pandemic has knocked the world off-course on almost every indicator, and progress would need to speed up by a factor of five in order to reach the targets set for 2030 on issues like reducing maternal mortality or ending malnutrition.

"It's hard to overstate what a setback the pandemic has been and it's hard to overstate what a setback the war in Ukraine is," said Gates, who pointed out that pre-2019, global health was improving in most areas.

EXPOSING BILL GATES’ AGENDA TO CHANGE OUR NATION

"It is fair to say that saving lives in Africa and caring about the poorest countries, we'll be challenged to maintain that as a priority and not cut back on those things," he added.

Gates has channeled more of his own money into the foundation this year and it will up its annual budget from $6 billion to $9 billion by 2026, but he said he was concerned about the competing pressures on the budgets of donor governments.

However, Gates said there was still hope, particularly in areas like food security, if the world invests in innovation.

NBA: Suns owner Robert Sarver used N-word on at least 5 occasions, made 'many sex-related comments'
Sep 13, 2022

Phoenix Suns team owner Robert Sarver was suspended for one season and fined $10 million following the NBA’s investigation into claims he ran a toxic environment of racism and misogyny.

NBA said in a statement an independent investigation found Sarver "engaged in conduct that clearly violated common workplace standards, as reflected in team and League rules and policies. This conduct included the use of racially insensitive language; unequal treatment of female employees; sex-related statements and conduct; and harsh treatment of employees that on occasion constituted bullying."

The initial allegations came to light in an ESPN report last year.

According to the NBA, the investigation found that Sarver – who is also the team owner of the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury – "repeated the N-word when recounting the statements of others" at least five times. The NBA said Sarver "engaged in instances of inequitable conduct toward female employees, made many sex-related comments in the workplace, made inappropriate comments about the physical appearance of female employees and other women, and on several occasions engaged in inappropriate physical conduct toward male employees."

He was also found to have treated employees harshly, the league said.

The NBA said its investigation, led by law firm of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. David Anders and Sarah Eddy, included interviews with 320 people, including current and former employees of Sarver’s. More than 80,000 documents and other materials were examined and Sarver and team officials fully cooperated with the probe.

Even with its findings, the NBA said, "The investigation made no finding that Mr. Sarver’s workplace misconduct was motivated by racial or gender-based animus."

UNVACCINATED NBA PLAYERS AND STAFF MUST TAKE WEEKLY COVID-19 TEST

The NBA said Suns employees engaged in "workplace misconduct" and called the organization’s human resources department was "historically ineffective and not a trusted resource for employees who were subjected to acts of improper workplace conduct."

"The statements and conduct described in the findings of the independent investigation are troubling and disappointing," NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement. "We believe the outcome is the right one, taking into account all the facts, circumstances and context brought to light by the comprehensive investigation of this 18-year period and our commitment to upholding proper standards in NBA workplaces.

"I am hopeful that the NBA community will use this opportunity to reflect on what this great game means to people everywhere and the values of equality, respect and inclusion that it strives to represent. Regardless of position, power or intent, we all need to recognize the corrosive and hurtful impact of racially insensitive and demeaning language and behavior. On behalf of the entire NBA, I apologize to all of those impacted by the misconduct outlined in the investigators’ report. We must do better."

Sarver is barred from all NBA and WNBA team facilities and arenas, participate in any league-related events, representing the Suns or Mercury in any fashion or have any business relating toward the teams and the league. He must also complete a workplace conduct training program.

The allegations against Sarver stemmed from an ESPN report last November. At the time, Sarver denied ever using the N-word.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid reportedly 'getting to know each other'
Sep 13, 2022

After Leonardo DiCaprio’s shocking split from his girlfriend of over four years, Camila Morrone, the "Great Gatsby" actor is reportedly cozying up to supermodel Gigi Hadid next.

"They are getting to know each other," a source confirmed to People on Monday.

The pair were seen gallivanting around New York City, as an insider told the media outlet that DiCaprio, 47, and Hadid, 27, are not "dating" yet.

"Leo is definitely pursuing Gigi," another insider confirmed.

A LOOK BACK AT LEONARDO DICAPRIO'S GIRLFRIENDS

"They've been seen hanging out with groups of people. It's only been a few weeks since the split. Since then, he's been hanging out with friends and family," a third source added.

Reps for the stars did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

DiCaprio has a long history of dating actresses and models who are all quite a bit younger than the Oscar winner, mostly being under the age of 25. However, Hadid missed that mark by two years.

Meanwhile, in 2019 the "Wolf of Wall Street" star’s ex, Morrone got candid in an interview with the Los Angeles Times on how the media paid too much attention to the 22-year age gap

"There's so many relationships in Hollywood – and in the history of the world – where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date," Morrone remarked.

The "Death Wish" actress is reportedly "doing fine" post-breakup and "has a big group of friends that really care about her." An insider confirmed that Morrone is "not in contact with Leo," according to the media outlet.

DiCaprio was seen in New York City, where Hadid lives with her 2-year-old daughter Khai, whom she shares with her ex Zayn Malik.

In September 2020, Hadid and Malik welcomed Khai, however, the pair split in October after the former One Direction singer allegedly grabbed Yolanda Hadid, the supermodel’s mother.

The 28-year-old allegedly "grabbed [Yolanda] and shoved her into a dresser, causing mental anguish and physical pain," according to court documents obtained by Fox News.

Liberal media outlet skewered for blasting Rubio's mockery of 'pregnant men': 'you guys just failed biology'
Sep 13, 2022

Conservatives went after liberal video journalism outlet The Recount after it slammed Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., for denying the idea that men can get pregnant.

On Sunday, the outlet’s Twitter account shared video of Rubio speaking during the Edmund Burke Foundation’s recent National Conservatism conference. In the clip, the U.S. Senator criticized the transgender ideology, specifically the notion that anyone other than a biological woman can get pregnant.

"Today we are subjected to things like, there are such things as pregnant men," he stated, adding, "As of almost 10 o’clock today – as far as I know – every single human being that’s ever been born was born of a biological woman."

Rubio then blasted health experts who have encouraged such ideas. "And yet we have, not just commentators, not just professors, we have the Centers for Disease Control, we have the most prominent public health agency in America, who insists on using the term pregnant people."

RUBIO SAYS BIDEN'S MAGA-BASHING EVOKES 'THIRD-WORLD DICTATORSHIPS'

"Well I can assure you that’s never happened," he added.

The Recount condemned Rubio’s words in this clip, tweeting, "Locked in a tight race with Rep. Val Demings, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) trots out a transphobic attack on the CDC for using the term ‘pregnant people.’ ‘Pregnant men ... I can assure you that's never happened,’ Rubio says, which is factually inaccurate."

Though conservatives on Twitter were not sold on The Recount’s shoddy biology lesson.

"You're a bunch of psychopaths for thinking men can get pregnant," tweeted NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck.

TownHall.com web editor Rebecca Downs claimed that the people at The Recount would’ve flunked biology class, tweeting, "Uh, no, it is indeed ‘factually ACCURATE,’ you guys just failed biology and/or would either promote wokeness rather than objective truth. It's also not even the much of a tight race."

Conservative write Kyle Becker pulled out the biology facts, tweeting, "Men generate spermatazoa and not ova, therefore they naturally cannot 'get pregnant'."

"As a woman, I can assure you, MEN cannot, NOR has one EVER, gotten pregnant. #ScienceMatters," wrote conservative commentator Kimberly Morin.

Author John Hawkins responded to The Recount, writing, "If you think biology 101 is transphobic, maybe you're just anti-science."

"Uhhh no, there has never been, nor will there ever be, a pregnant man. Anyone saying such is an unhinged, fanatical liar. This isn't ‘transphobic’)because there's no such word). It's science and a fact," tweeted The Washington Examiner’s Christopher Tremoglie.

Conservative radio host Gerry Callahan tweeted, "Oh boy. Rubio really stepped in it now."

Radio host Hugh Hewitt asked, "What? Can we get a link @TheRecount?"

RUBIO RESPONDS TO DEMINGS' COMMENTS, ACCUSES DEM OPPONENT OF SUPPORTING ABORTION 'AT ANY POINT'

The Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing wrote, "No matter how many journalists insist otherwise, no matter how many social scientists insist the same, no matter how many social platforms, corporations, or schools force this lunacy upon you, men can not become pregnant and it is not transphobia to acknowledge as much."

"Come for the common sense from Rubio, stay for the ratio of the left-wing stupidity," quipped TownHall.com columnist Derek Hunter.

"‘Transphobic attack.’" Lmao stop erasing women," urged conservative commentator Ian Miles Cheong.

'Woke' Department of Defense equity chief writes anti-White posts: 'Exhausted with these white folx'
Sep 13, 2022

FIRST ON FOX – The chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer at the Department of Defense's education wing, who describes herself as a "woke administrator," wrote a series of disparaging posts about White people on Twitter, Fox News Digital found.

Kelisa Wing is the DEI chief at Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), which provides K-12 education to the DoD community in the U.S. and all over the world. After Fox News Digital reached out for comment, Wing's Twitter was put on private, but she did not immediately respond.

She wrote in June 2020, "I'm exhausted with these white folx in these [professional development] sessions."

DOD BLASTED FOR TWEET TOUTING 'DIVERSITY' AND 'INCLUSION' AS 'NECESSITY' IN THE MILITARY

"[T]his lady actually had the CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too… I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS… [W]e are not the majority, we don't have power," she continued.

Caudacity is a slang term that is used to describe audacity demonstrated by White people.

"[B]eing antiracist means being active against racism… you will NEVER arrive… stop centering this on whiteness," Wing said.

The DoDEA didn't respond to a request for comment.

On another occasion, Wing responded to a user who said, "I am exhausted by 99% of the white men in education and 95% of the white women. Where can I get a break from white nonsense for a while?"

NORTH KOREAN DEFECTOR: I AM TERRIFIED OF THE 'MASSIVE INDOCTRINATION COMING FROM THE LEFT' IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Wing responded, "If another Karen tells me about her feelings… I might lose it..."

In another post, Wing responded to a user who criticized the DoD diversity chief's article demanding all teachers take part in "dismantling racial oppression" and claimed that "racism is ingrained in the very fabric of our country."

"Bye Karen," Wing responded to the user.

Wing has also referred to former President Trump as the "whole boy version of a Karen" and former secretary of education Betsy DeVos as "the queen of Karens."

Fox News Digital reached out to the Department of Defense, asking if Wing's statements about White people were appropriate for a DoD employee involved in diversity, equity and inclusion, but did not immediately receive a response.

DoDEA "directs… education programs for school-age children of Department of Defense personnel" and "provides support and resources to Local Educational Agencies throughout the United States that serve children of military families." DoDEA schools are located in the United States, Europe, the Pacific, Western Asia, the Middle East, Cuba, Guam and Puerto Rico.

Wing – who oversees curriculum at DoDEA, according to a press release, – has also co-created children's books which said that White people must confess their privilege and were de facto hurting Black people by being benefactors of unearned advantages.

"White privilege hurts a lot of people. If you are White you might feel bad about hurting others or you might feel afraid to lose this privilege," the book, "What is White Privilege?," said.

It said that, "Overcoming White privilege is a job that must start with the White community."

"[W]ill you really feel good at the end of the race when you look back and see others fighting obstacles that you didn't even have?" the book added.

The book was reportedly taken down for review along with other radical-left titles by a Florida district, according to a nonprofit that monitors books taken down from the shelves.

PENTAGON SHOULD END 'WOKE' HUNT FOR MILITARY EXTREMISM, SAYS FMR GREEN BERET

"Honored to be involved with work that causes good trouble," Wing said on Twitter about the report.

The book on "White Privilege" also encourages White kids to "unpack" their "backpack" of privilege and referenced an article by Peggy McIntosh which said that White women are "justly seen as oppressive" and "enjoy unearned skin privilege."

McIntosh's article also lamented that White students are not taught in schools to see themselves as "an oppressor," a "participant in a damaged culture" and "unfairly advantaged."

"This is a popular phrase that means to think about all the advantages you have every day because you are White," the children's book said about privilege.

The book provides children with an assignment to create an "identity map" and question "What parts of my identity have provided me with privilege?"

The book also stated that White people must "spend" their privilege by becoming social justice activists. "Address how your identity can help you achieve racial justice."

"There is hope! By learning more about White privilege we can work to spend it," the book said. "Privilege is like extra money in your pocket that you didn't earn."

Wing said that her responsibilities at DoDEA included taking "a holistic view of the agency in terms of recruitment and retention, development and promotion, teaching and learning, and then as well as climate," according to a video posted to the education wing's YouTube channel

Some of Wing's children books she co-created contain misleading information or glaring omissions.

For example, "What is Black Lives Matter?" said "almost all" the protests after George Floyd's murder were "peaceful." However, according to Axios, the pro-BLM riots that erupted in 2020 amounted to over $1 billion in damages, "the most expensive in insurance history."

Wing's children's book "What is Anti-Racism?" contains misleading statements, if not outright misinformation.

In one instance the book said that some people say the word "race" comes from Italian or Hebrew. However, there is no word in Biblical Hebrew for race – that was later invented in modern Hebrew, according to Aish, a nonprofit organization with expertise on Judaism.

ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE LAUNCHES REVIEW OF EDUCATION CONTENT AFTER FOX NEWS DIGITAL INVESTIGATION

The book also said "the modern idea of ‘race’ was introduced by the National Party in Germany." The exclusion of the "socialist" part of the Nazi party name notwithstanding, the claim is misinformed. The idea of race was utilized in a pseudoscience called eugenics before the Nazis in Germany rose to power; and the Nazis included those debunked eugenic views within their ideology.

In a seemingly contradictory claim, the book also said that "race" was born on American soil.

Fox News Digital asked for clarification about how the idea of race was both created by the Nazis in the 20th century and also born on U.S. soil hundreds of years beforehand, as the children's book appears to claim, but did not receive a response.

The "Antiracism" book also said that 15 to 20 million people died in the Holocaust. The Holocaust refers to the genocide against European Jews by the Nazis as part of the "Final Solution." In fact, six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust.

Wing has also co-written a children's book about defunding the police, in which she explains to a young audience the differences between abolishing, defunding, disbanding and reforming police with antiracist policies.

When Wing was promoted to chief in December 2021, the DoD said Wing "has been involved with diversity, equity and inclusion efforts for students and schools over many years, authoring several books on the topic."

The director of DoDEA, Tom Brady, said, "Kelisa Wing is exactly the right person to lead our efforts in building on the foundational work done to support meaningful change in our organization."

"This new position will take a holistic approach to identifying and improving how we integrate the practice of diversity, equity and inclusion in every aspect of DoDEA, from curriculum and assessment to hiring and professional development," he continued.

New Hampshire Primary: Republican voters sound off on Biden, abortion, student debt handouts
Sep 13, 2022

As New Hampshire voters head to the polls Tuesday for the state’s primary elections, Nashua Republicans sounded off on crucial issues that could affect the midterms and beyond.

Nashua, the state’s second-largest city, is in New Hampshire’s 2nd congressional district, which is currently represented by Democrat Annie Kuster in the U.S. House, with several Republicans vying to challenge her. Former governor and first-term Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan is also up for re-election this year in a seat Republicans hope to flip in November.

Seven voters with the Nashua Republican City Committee spoke with Fox News Digital about what they think of the job President Biden is doing, how the issue of abortion could affect the midterms and their reaction to the administration’s proposed student loan handouts.

MAGA FACEOFF IN A HIGH-PROFILE GOP PRIMARY IN KEY BATTLEGROUND DISTRICT DIVIDES REPUBLICANS

New Hampshire is famously home to the nation’s first presidential primaries every four years and the state is already buzzing with 2024 GOP hopefuls. Biden came in fifth in the Democratic presidential primary in the Granite State in 2020, but he recovered to capture the party's nomination and defeated former President Trump there; no Republican presidential hopeful has won New Hampshire since George W. Bush in 2000.

Unsurprisingly, all seven Nashua Republicans were highly critical of Biden, with several expressing concern over his mental acuity.

"I think Joe Biden has been a total failure," said Chuck Lothrop.

"Yes. Total failure," Di Lothrop, born in England, agreed with her husband. "The poor man, I think, he's definitely got cognitive failure." She said that in Europe "they are laughing."

"We're a laughingstock of the world again," echoed Paula Johnson. "I think it's disgraceful."

"I think that the poor man is so disabled," said Pat Miller. "What they're doing to him is absolutely atrocious. He has, I believe, a disease, and they're trotting him out. And I feel bad for him. I really, really do. I think it's elder abuse."

TOP GOP SENATE SUPER PAC SPENDING $23 MILLION TO TARGET HASSAN IN BATTLEGROUND NEW HAMPSHIRE

Bill Ohm, wearing a "Let's Go Brandon" cap, similarly felt Biden’s aides were pushing him to go through the motions.

"He is not up to the job. I think it's pretty clear that he's diminished mentally," Ohm said. "He's been run by his aides, and he just tries to read a teleprompter as best he can, which is not very well. I kind of feel sorry for the guy, but it's worse for the country."

"His policies have been absolutely horrible for this country," Di Lothrop said.

"I think President Biden is perhaps the most divisive president of my lifetime. And he ran as a unifier, but he has done nothing but try to demonize groups of people," Kevin Scully said, mentioning Trump supporters and the unvaccinated as among those demonized and saying anyone who opposes Biden is labeled as a domestic terrorist. "I think it’s frightening and awful."

Ohm predicted, "I think it's better than 50-50 that next year he will resign for health reasons, and then we'll have Kamala Harris to deal with, and we'll see where that takes us."

Despite recent media insistence that abortion is top of mind for voters – with NBC News Washington correspondent Yamiche Alcindor claiming Republican women are voting Democratic for the first time because of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade – the pro-life group didn’t seem to think the issue would play a big part of the midterms.

Di said that while it may be an emotional issue, she doesn’t think that’s enough for a significant majority of the general population to not vote Republican over abortion.

Pat said, "For me and the right to life people, it is a big issue. For the rest of the Americans, I'm not sure how important that would be, but there's enough of us [pro-lifers] out there to make a difference, I think."

Her husband said they are "pro-life through and through" and would be asking every candidate their position on abortion.

There was a general feeling that Democrats were trying to make hay of the issue for electoral reasons. Ohm said, "I think it's a big issue for the Democrats, so they try to make a lot out of it, and I think that's just for fundraising purposes."

NBC'S YAMICHE ALCINDOR CLAIMS 'ABORTION COMES UP 90% OF THE TIME' WITH VOTERS ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL

Larry Miller noted abortion recently rose as a top issue in polling over the summer and said, "[Democrats] are putting out information through all the news media and social media to push [abortion as] the main issue during the election."

All respondents agreed with the Dobbs decision and noted how it didn’t change much except for giving states more say.

"It got sent back to the states where it really should be," Johnson said. "That's all it did. Abortion is still legal in a lot of states."

Chuck Lothrop said, "I think it was a good decision by the court bringing the decision about abortion back to the states so that states can decide their position through their local representatives."

"What the Dobbs decision did, really, was return the decision to the states where it was originally and where it belongs," Scully said. "And so I don't consider this a national issue at all. It's a state issue. And the people in the states can make their own decision."

Both Hassan and Kuster support Biden’s plan for student loan handouts, which could cost taxpayers up to $600 billion according to the Committee for a Responsible Budget, but New Hampshire’s other congressman, Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in District 1, has spoken out against it.

When asked what they thought about student loan handouts, Nashua Republicans were united in anger and disgust.

"I think President Biden is making all the people who did the right things and sacrificed and repaid their loans feel like suckers," Scully said. "It is one of the most unfair things I think I've seen in quite some time."

Pat Miller said after she and her husband paid for themselves and their kids to go to college, "I don't need to pay for somebody else to go to college… I am absolutely surprised that people think that I should pay for their child or grandchild's college. Sorry about that, but no."

"It is a handout," Johnson said. "Why should we the people have to pay for that? Nobody paid for my daughter's student loans. Nobody paid for a lot of other people's student loans. It shouldn't happen."

Di Lothrop called Biden’s plan "terrible" and asked, "How can students learn personal responsibility if they're just handed freebies? They don't. They took out a loan. They should pay it back. Why should I do it? I'm a senior citizen."

She said the burden on taxpayers is "very unfair – very, very unfair to, especially, the senior population."

STUDENT LOAN HANDOUT REACTION: PEOPLE 'ARE GETTING REWARDED FOR DOING THE LEAST AMOUNT'

Chuck Lothrop echoed his wife’s comments about the handouts being "unfair" and said, "I believe that if you sign a contract, then you're obligated to pay what the contract requires." He further noted how it "is a financial transfer of wealth to a minority of people in the country."

Several in the group pointed out how the majority of Americans who do not have college degrees will be funding handouts to college graduates who on average make significantly more money.

"It's theft," Larry Miller said. "They are stealing from the rest of this country. 30% of the people who are working have college degrees. The rest are working people who haven't got college degrees. They are going to pay for this."

Ohm called the handouts "horrible," explaining, "If you're a working person, if you've got an apprentice[ship] that you've worked hard for, taking a lower wage to learn your trade. If you're an independent businessman, why do you want to subsidize these wealthy kids who are getting PhDs on questionable topics and consequently have a huge debt?"

Scully also brought up the workers who are losing out, asking, "How do you explain to somebody who didn't go to college, who's working on a road crew [on] a 95 degree day laying hot tar to keep our roads in good shape? How do you explain to them why they should be paying back the student loans to somebody who took six years to defer a productive adulthood in order to pursue a degree in gender studies?"

The Republicans were also quick to note that there are alternatives to taking on exorbitant college debt and better ways to address the problem.

"If you can't afford to go to school and spend $300,000 for your college education, then you shouldn't do it," Johnson said. "It's sad that colleges cost so much, but rather than paying for student loans, maybe we should reform it and lower the costs for students to go to college. Or maybe they should go to a technical school."

Pat Miller said, "I think the problem with student loans is they charge an arm and a leg. Why don't you take the interest down to 1% instead of whatever it is now?"

There was also worry about how the spending will affect inflation and contribute to the national debt future generations will have to pay off.
