ADAM LAXALT: If she would stand up to Joe Biden, then we could actually get a secure border. She has that much power in this swing state. But instead, she continues to stand with him and to see the Left lose their mind over the Martha's Vineyard planes. WATCH THE FULL INTERVIEW BELOW: | | | | | Isaiah Washington on faith-based films and how having a family has changed his choice of acting roles | | Sep 16, 2022 | | Isaiah Washington is opening up about how having a family has affected his acting career. In an interview with Fox News Digital at a special screening of his film "God's Not Dead: We The People," the 59-year-old actor explained that he is mindful of his wife and three children when choosing his roles in television and movies. "I always told my wife, since I have the kids and a wife, that I would rather kiss a horse than a woman on screen," Washington said on the red carpet in Century City, California. He continued, "Because then I have to explain myself to my daughter, like why are you kissing a strange woman?" THREE MOVIES TO WATCH RIGHT NOW ON FOX NATION Washington clarified that he was joking but added, "I've said ‘No’ more than I have said ‘Yes’." Washington continued, "Because I always wanted to be alive to know 20 years later, what my kids would think of me in that particular role." "For me, being married and having children did change a lot of my trajectory," he said. "That's why I didn't want to get married 25 years ago, but I'm glad I did because the wife and children really make you the best human being that you can be." The "Romeo Must Die" star married wife Jenisa Garland in 1996. The couple share sons Tyme and Isaiah Washington V, and daughter Iman. Though Washington told Fox News Digital that his children have "no interest" in following in his footsteps by pursuing acting as a career, he revealed that he recently enlisted their help in creating a greeting video for his directorial debut "Corsicana". "I pulled my crew together," Washington said. "I found out really well that my daughter is going to be a director, my son is going to be special effects, scripting and story boarder and the other son is going to be a producer." "And we all came together and we did this video." He went on say that Iman took her role as a director very seriously. "When I got out of line, she said, 'Oh no, no, you gotta do it again. I didn't believe you.' I was like, whoa." Washington said that his daughter insisted that he do several takes to ensure that he was coming across as authentic in the video. "I'm like, 'Wait a minute, I'm being me.'" [And she said,]"'Yeah, but I don't believe you being you. Stop acting.'" "It was beautiful," he said. "She was giving me direction." 'GREY'S ANATOMY' STAR ISAIAH WASHINGTON REIGNITES FEUD WITH FORMER CO-STAR KATHERINE HEIGL In addition to directing, Washington – who was known for his role on "Grey's Anatomy" before being fired, an incident he has spoken out about -- also stars in the Western drama "Corsicana." The movie was released in theaters across the United States on Aug. 26. Washington explained Tom Cruise inspired him to create a pre-film greeting message for "Corsicana" audiences. Cruise recently appeared in a welcome message that played ahead of showings of his blockbuster 2022 film "Top Gun: Maverick," the sequel to his beloved 1986 movie "Top Gun." The Texas-native said he had a longtime interest in faith-based films. "I've always been curious on how I can engage in these kind of stories, faith-based stories, but I didn't know how," he explained. Washington told Fox News Digital that he became involved in "God's Not Dead: We The People" after a producer contacted him on Twitter. In the Christian drama, which was released in October 2021, he played Rep. Daryl Smith, a Congressman who helps the main character, Reverend Dave Hill (David R.R. White). "I'm always attracted to stories and characters that either scare me or educate me or have something to say that I also have to say," he said. "You know, so I can say what I want to say through them. And Congressman Daryl Smith is a character that I get to hide behind but kind of say the things that I would never say, so it's kind of like my alter ego." "God's Not Dead: We The People" also stars Antonio Sabato Jr., Francesca Battistelli, William Forsythe and Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro. Though Washington didn't work with Pirro during production, he said he thought she was "fantastic" in the film. At the screening, White announced that a fifth installment of the franchise was in the works. But he didn't exactly give his struggling teammates a vote of confidence during or after their 23-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings Sunday. Christian Watson dropped a wide open pass that easily would have been a 75-yard touchdown. Rodgers appeared upset and confused. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM In his postgame conference, Rodgers appeared to throw Watson under the bus, according to ESPN. Former head coach Sean Payton was not a fan of the way Rodgers carried himself during or after the game. "It drives me crazy. Here’s the thing: I didn’t think he played well," Payton said on the "NFL Rhodes Show." "I don’t think Aaron played well. … After the game, we go to the interview in the locker room, and the very first question posed to Aaron was about bouncing back. And he referenced the first play of the game, the dropped pass from a rookie. And I thought, ‘Come on.’ I like Aaron Rodgers, but I didn’t like what I saw." The play was sloppy, but Rodgers said he just needs to work on gaining more chemistry with his new teammates. "There’s a standard I’m going to hold these guys to because I believe in them, but also there’s a patience that comes with the inexperience. I think I’ve learned how to balance that. But the direct conversations are the best way. These are good kids. They really are. They want to please, they want to do the right thing, they care about it," Rodgers said Thursday. AARON RODGERS' SOLUTION FOR PACKERS CHEMISTRY WOES WITH YOUNG WIDEOUTS: 'THE CORE OF IT IS JUST COMMUNICATION' Rodgers was 22 for 34 for 195 yards and no touchdowns with an interception. Of course, if Watson makes a play he should make, it's a totally different stat line and ballgame. Toward the end of the first half, Rodgers looked angry on the sideline. Rodgers and the Packers will look to get their first win of the year against their NFC North rivals, the Chicago Bears, Sunday night. | | | | | SEAN HANNITY: This ultra-wealthy liberal enclave is descending into chaos | | Sep 16, 2022 | | Sean Hannity discussed how Martha's Vineyard previously welcomed the coming of migrants, but are now pushing back against the fifty sent by Gov. Ron DeSantis on "Hannity." SEAN HANNITY: THE INFLATION REDUCTION ACT IS JUST MAKING INFLATION WORSE SEAN HANNITY: We begin tonight in Martha's Vineyard, which is descending tonight into chaos. For years this ultra-wealthy liberal enclave featured signs like this all over the town. Look closely. It reads, quote, "We stand with immigrants and refugees. All are welcome here." So yesterday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent 50 illegal immigrants on charter planes to Massachusetts so they could take advantage of the inclusive environment that they claim is Martha's Vineyard. And what they have to offer. But as it turns out, while the elite residents there are not actually all that inclusive, they are not all that welcoming, and they don't really stand with the immigrants and refugees and now they want them gone. Now, for years, I've always said liberals are generous with other people's money. In this particular case, they're all, let's see, pro-immigrant and sanctuary cities, but not their city. They have to move from here to somewhere else. They can't be here. Only 50 people. Remember Arizona? Texas, they're dealing with millions. They don't have space for 50 migrants. And they did away with the Soviet-style doctrine, where you had mass formations … They came with things called BTGs, battalion tactical groups - about 800 soldiers. They don't fight combined arms. We in the American Army do. They have disparate units. Their small units are not well-led. They don't have the senior leadership we have in the American army. Everything you look at about the Russian army is flawed, and the Ukrainians have taken advantage of that. This is truly a paper tiger. I hate to say this. Reid, who has frequently invoked the Hulu series and book to attack pro-life Republican lawmakers, discussed the recent bill proposed by Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., which seeks to restrict abortions after 15 weeks nationwide as well as Indiana’s abortion restrictions officially taking effect on Thursday. Dowd, who plays the villainous character Aunt Lydia, slammed Graham for his proposal. "It’s disgusting. That’s what I make of it. And honestly, watching that right now, how dare, how dare he acclaim himself a servant to the people," Dowd responded. MSNBC, CNN, ABC’S ‘THE VIEW’ SLAM LINDSEY GRAHAM OVER 15 WEEK ABORTION BAN, CALL IT POLITICAL ‘SUICIDE’ She later suggested that America now could possibly be worse than the dystopian society in "Handmaid’s Tale" since the show is "make believe." "As to ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ and comparing it to the world we’re in, let’s be clear about one thing. What we do is make believe. When I go home at night, I know that no woman has been forced to be pregnant because of our show and stay pregnant. What’s happening in our country is appallingly different. Because in our country, we have made a very blind and costly mistake," Dowd said. She also condemned efforts to limit abortions, claiming that women will instead have underground abortions or have children in miserable conditions. "Who is going to suffer? The poor. The disenfranchised people of color. And how dare – how dare – they used the phrase pro-life. This is not pro-life. Because, if you open your eyes, and look around, think of all the children without homes, without love, without care, desperate for a chance. Having been familiar with the foster care system and the gift of my son, who is now my adopted son, and those lonely, desperate kids who have been let down – don’t you dare use the phrase pro-life. Look after those who are on this earth in need of help. And frankly, don’t dare hide behind God’s word. Because God would never put people in this circumstance," Dowd added. WASHINGTON POST EDITORIAL BOARD BASHES LINDSEY GRAHAM ABORTION LIMITS BILL AS ‘DANGEROUS’ AND ‘HYPOCRITICAL’ Regarding any "hope" for the country to get better, Dowd was optimistic but admitted some doubts. "I think we are in a very, very bad way. Without question. We have lost our way on many levels," she said. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP "The Handmaid’s Tale" started airing its fifth season on Hulu Thursday.
