"It was devastating," she told host Tucker Carlson. "As you can imagine, it’s hard to even express the victimization and how traumatized we all are due to this unnecessary thing that happened to us." Ryan-Marie said her children have been "crying" and are afraid to sleep alone since her husband's arrest. "The older ones, we can talk, we can cry. We’ve had some counseling, we have more counseling to do," she told Tucker Carlson. "And the little ones, they’re scared. There’s a lot of crying and a lot of unrestful sleep. A lot of kids in our bed at night and in the morning." The raid and subsequent arrest reportedly stemmed from an altercation Houck, 48, had with a Planned Parenthood escort in Philadelphia in October 2021, when he was accused of pushing a 72-year-old man outside the clinic after the escort allegedly verbally harassed Houck's 12-year-old son. The pro-life father, who routinely engages in prayerful protests outside abortion clinics, is co-founder and president of The King’s Men, a Catholic ministry that aims to spiritually mentor young men. LAWYER FOR PRO-LIFE ACTIVIST ARRESTED BY FBI BLASTS ‘OUTRAGEOUS ABUSE OF POWER’ FROM DOJ: ‘PURE INTIMIDATION’ The Philadelphia Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that officers responded to the Planned Parenthood on the afternoon of October 13 last year, but that no charges were filed against Houck, and he was not arrested. The Philadelphia district attorney also declined to prosecute Houck over the incident. But for reasons unknown, Houck's case caught the attention of the Justice Department. In May, he received a "target letter" from the DOJ telling him he was being investigated by a grand jury for violating the Freedom of Access Clinic Entrances Act, or FACE Act, which makes it a federal crime to use force with the intent to injure, intimidate and interfere with anyone because that person provides reproductive health care. Houck's attorney and senior counsel at the Thomas More Society, Peter Breen, condemned the arrest as an abuse of power from President Biden's Department of Justice (DOJ) during the "Tucker Carlson Tonight" interview, where he accused the department of trying to intimidate pro-life Americans. "This was not a federal crime. We have controlling case law on that, strong defenses, but instead, they’ve taken an innocent man and made an example out of him, presumably to send a message to pro-life people and people of faith across this country," he said. MISSOURI SENATOR SENDS LETTER TO AG GARLAND DEMANDING ANSWERS ON HOUCK PRO-LIFE ARREST After the Philadelphia district attorney declined to prosecute Houck over the incident, Breen said the man involved brought a private criminal complaint against Houck. However, that man never showed up to his own court hearings that he initiated. Houck's lawyer said they have considered taking legal action for abuse of process. "This was reckless and outrageous," Breen told Carlson. "It put the Houck family in unnecessary danger. We've offered to bring him in. Didn’t get a response. Even if you're going to arrest a regular person, you just send a couple of agents, they knock on the door, not dragging the head of the family out, violating the sanctity of the home, pointing guns at them. This was outrageous and uncalled for." Breen said Thomas More Society has retained some of the best legal talent in Philadelphia to assist in the case. "If we can push back against the Justice Department here, we can get them to stop and not do this to someone else," he said. The woman, who has asked only to be identified as Rachel, said she doesn't believe the teen suspect has been rehabilitated in the five months since he was sent to a juvenile probation camp. "Nobody in the room actually believes that (the suspect) is a good kid," she said via a conference call into a Los Angeles County courtroom in Lancaster, California. "Look at what he did. Nobody changes who they are to the core in four months." Judge Mario Barrera on Wednesday said more evidence was needed before he decides whether to grant the teen's early release request. CALIFORNIA TEEN SUBJECT OF AMBER ALERT KILLED IN SHOOTOUT BETWEEN HER FATHER AND DEPUTIES, AUTHORITIES SAY Prosecutors argued the teen, who is not being named because he is a minor, has been involved in 14 fights and has been written up for allegations of misconduct, disobedience, destructive language and defiance of authority. However, some probation reports also praised his behavior. Barrera continued the proceedings and ordered the court to request incident reports detailing all the infractions involving the suspect during his time in the probation camp. During his testimony, county probation officer Charles Wilson was questioned by prosecutor Shea Sanna over the reports, including one summary that said the teen's "tone and disposition toward authority has improved." Wilson could not give specifics of how the teen had improved his behavior, but said he had begun taking responsibility by admitting he had been fighting and involved in other incidents. Sanna pointed out the teen got into a fight during his second day at the camp, followed by more physical altercations in the weeks thereafter. LOS ANGELES DEPUTY DA: GEORGE GASCON ‘TRIED TO HUMILIATE US’ FOR SUPPORTING RECALL EFFORT The incident that got him sentenced to five-to-seven months in the camp occurred last year. Surveillance video captured the moment the teen driver veered into Rachel, on Aug. 6, 2021 during a hit-and-run in the Venice neighborhood. The child was not seriously harmed, but photos showed a tire-tread-shaped bruise on the back of his scalp. The teen driver to flee the scene before a good Samaritan in a pickup truck rammed him off the road. Rachel previously told Fox News Digital that she suffered severe cuts on her arms, hands and shoulder and slipped three discs in her back as a result of the hit, which sent her rolling over the hood of the car. The teen didn’t have a driver’s license at the time of the crime and was already on probation for a prior offense, felony poisoning after allegedly spiking a high school girl's drink. The incident has left Rachel scared of her neighborhood and prompted her family to sell their home and leave Los Angeles, she said Wednesday. "I hate where I live because it’s a constant reminder every time I leave my house of what happened to us," she said. We have sold our home and will be leaving LA at the end of November, so I would like to ask that he remain in camp at least until then. I will fear for my life every day that I am in LA if I know he is at home." LOS ANGELES WRONG-WAY HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER WHO PLOWED INTO MOM AND BABY IN STOLEN CAR WANTS EARLY RELEASE Despite his prior offenses, the office of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon sought the five- to seven-month sentence in juvenile probation camp. The move was in line with Gascon's progressive criminal justice policies that treat underage suspects with less severity. Ron DeSantis told Fox News. DeSantis said Wednesday on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" the hurricane clocked in just shy of a Category 5 storm, but that Ian's breadth dwarfed some of the Cat-5's in that area, leading to similar levels of destruction. The storm struck the Sunshine State in almost the exact same spot as Hurricane Charley did in 2004. Charley had been the strongest storm to strike the southwest Florida until Ian – weaker than only 1992's Hurricane Andrew, which ravaged Homestead and Miami on the Atlantic side. "The state has marshaled hundreds of aircraft. We have high water vehicles. We have the capacity to go by air, by land or by sea to help people. And we will do that. And that's going to need to take place," he told host Tucker Carlson. "But then you're going to have a major effort to restore power. We have 100 cell towers that we can help stand up to help do communications. We have over 42,000 linemen and other personnel associated with restoring power. If you're driving anywhere in Florida, I-10, I-95, you see these trucks coming into the state and it's been ongoing. So that's going to be the biggest probably logistical effort in the history of the state." WALKER CALLS OUT WARNOCK FOR ‘PRO-CHOICE PASTOR’ STANCE DeSantis cited the "massive standing water" in places like Naples, the county seat of Collier, which he categorized as the "biggest flood event" in that part of the state.
